Art Classes and Roses
This is my second ever painting since I was at school! I have been taking some art classes with Lynette at Wildly Creative Heart. I didn’t think I could paint or draw but it appears that you can learn.
Red roses are one of my favourite flowers. I had them in my wedding bouquet and at many other special occasions. They are to me, and I think to many people, a symbol of love. “The Rose” is one of my favourite songs. The lyrics are so meaningful. The line “And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live” is particularly challenging.
” The Rose”
Some say love, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower, and you, it’s only seed
It’s the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taking, who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose

These are 2 more paintings I have done with Lynette teaching me. I especially enjoyed painting the tree. I’m currently working on some more flowers. I’m finding painting to be a very “meditative” experience, it takes a lot of focus and can be very challenging but very rewarding.
